Ever since it launched the legendary and still useful RA1 over a decade earlier, Toyo has been a hallmark in the R-compound environment. However, they did not sell a genuine DOT licensed dry weather track tire at that time. Toyo is making a run at the fiercely contested dry conditions DOT area with the Proxes RR launch.
In the past, Toyo has always provided track-going adventurers with what is called the "best option": outstanding grip, reviews, and accessibility while still wearing iron. Toyo tried to build on that credibility with the Proxes RR when providing the faster lap times achieved by those who had moved to the contest.
Although the Proxes RR radials comply with DOT specifications, they are not suitable for the roadway. For riding in rainy conditions where stagnant water is flowing, and there is a chance of hydroplaning, Proxes RR radials are not advised; drivers should drive carefully at slower speeds if they experience these conditions. And Proxes RR radials are not meant to be driven in near-freezing weather, through the ice, or on snow, like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires. It is also critical that these tires are stored indoors at levels above 15 ??F.
Proxes RR tires exhibit excellent tread compound shaped into a semi-slick tread pattern with just two 4/32" deep, symmetrical circumferential tread grooves. Numerous wear examination holes in the slick regions. This race-ready design removes the need for tire shaving. Before the race, Proxes RR tires will profit from heat cycling to improve durability and provide reliable longevity for surface shaving.
The tire's overall shape incorporates a symmetrical rayon casing structure to provide reliable balancing and reliable lap times over the life of the tire. In contrast, strengthened sidewalls provide improved steering response and stabilization of the cornering. A labeling area built into the sidewall design enables racers to label and monitor their tires easily.
Besides, their symmetrical tread design and inner construction enable them to be placed on either side of the vehicle (and then installed inside out to prolong their life).
