Ultra High-Performance All-Season tires are designed for drivers who seek a premium look, quick handling, and Z-speed rating (or greater) reliability, as well as all-season traction, including light snow. Original Equipment (O.E.) on sports cars, sports coupes, and high-performance sedans is commonly Ultra High-Performance All-Season tires labeled with the M+S mark.
Ultra High-Performance O.E. All-Season tires are often bought to replace worn-out pairs or sets of the vehicle's standard tires. They can also be installed in full sets of four or axle pairings for other automobile projects if they are available in an acceptable size, load range, and speed rating to meet the performance classification and requirements of the current O.E. tires.
The Yokohama Advan A82A is built to provide high-performance handling and consistent all-season performance. The A82A is a replacement tire for cars that use a P205/50R17 fitment and is mostly used as factory equipment on the 2006-2009 Subaru Legacy.
The all-season silica-enhanced tread compound and symmetric tread are designed to improve dry and wet traction. At higher speeds, this tread pattern improves cornering traction and tire balance. Wet traction is improved by three circumferential grooves and the tire's distinctive lateral grooves, which lessen the possibility of hydroplaning.
There is some increased winter traction on this type because it is an M+S certified all-season tire, but it is not where this tire thrives. Two steel belts with nylon reinforcing are included inside the tire for enhanced strength and balance over the speed range. The body is made of polyester cord, contributing to the ride's comfort. The V-speed A82A has a black sidewall pattern and a V-speed rating.
While this Yokohama tire performs admirably in the dry and delivers excellent cornering grip, we believe it might do more. However, the ride is generally pleasant, and the steering reaction is swift and delivers a nice feel. Wet traction is an area where we'd like to see some improvement, while it's not horrible by any means.
On wet pavement, just be extra cautious and slow down a little. The road noise on this tire is a little louder, especially as the rubber wears down. Generally, the Subaru Legacy's A82A has proven to be an effective high-performance all-season tire.
It is unquestionably a good option for a replacement model. Other versions, such as the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus, Continental DWS06, and BFG Comp-2 A/S, among others, provide significantly better performance and cost far less than A82A.
