Vivid Racing just had the pleasure of working on this 2009 Porsche 997.2 Carrera PDK car. The new 2009 and up Carrera is DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) and is available in the PDK (paddle transmission) or 6speed gearbox. It is also available in the 3.6L or 3.8L version. The particular PDK, 3.6L, Cabrio was our car worked on. The customer already had the Agency Power exhaust system and wanted to get some more ponies, throttle response, and sound from the vehicle. So we equipped it with the Softronic ECU Flash. Softronic is the ONLY company that can flash via the OBDII port on the DFI cars which does not require you to remove the ECU and possibly void your warranty. Since the cars come from the Porsche factory wanting to use 93 octane, West Coast customers that get 91 octane still can gain power. The air/fuel ratio and timing is adjusted accordingly and using the factory wideband O2 sensors to retain all knock correction and make adjustments if detonation occurs.
This particular 997.2 Carrera baselined on our Mustang Dyno in AWD mode at 291 horsepower and 249ft/lbs of torque. We had to dyno the car in AWD as the cars ABS/PSM would not allow it to work with the PDK causing it to shift up prematurely without us able to manually shift through the gears. We are more concerned with the delta then the starting number. After the Softronic Flash was done via the easy instruction manual here, we redynoed the car which put it at 310awhp and 260ft/lbs of torque. So this flash gained a true 21 wheel horsepower and 11 ft/lbs of torque. That is very good considering the ambient temperature of around 100F with 91 octane.
Vivid Racing sponsored BMX rider Coco Zurita is down in Los Angeles getting ready to take command at XGames 16. But before he goes for gold this weekend, he has just equipped up his Mitsubishi EVO X. Newly added to the car is a set of 19×10.5 Volk Racing CE28N Genesis Wheels that have been wrapped in Continental DW Contact Tires. I believe a 265/30/19 is the size on all 4 corners. In addition, we also hooked up Coco with some new Agency Power Rear Adjustable Control Arms, Rear Sway Bar, Downpipe, Fuel Rail, and a Short Shifter. Stayed tuned for more pics as we pulled these from his Twitter Account, @cocobmx. Also check out Coco’s new Vert Helmet repping the Vivid Racing logo. Can’t wait to see it on TV! Make it happen!

This customer has been working with Vivid Racing for over 2 years and now has something pretty insane to show for it. From the outside, it looks like a stock Mitsubishi EVO X, but under the body are some serious mods. He stopped at nothing to make this car truly the best with function, performance, and power. With parts like a JUN upgraded throttlebody kit, JUN intake manifold, and JUN 2.3L stroker motor, these parts are unheard of on normal EVO’s. Making more power is a custom Garrett GT3076R bolt on turbo with Kelford camshafts. This car rolls on some 19×10 Advan RS-D wheels with Toyo T1R 265/30/19 tires. With other parts such as an Exedy Twin Disk Clutch, JIC FLTA2 Coilovers, Endless brakes, this definitely will make some people cry! All these parts and more were supplied by Vivid Racing on our Mitsubishi EVO X JDM Store Here.
ADV.1 is a relatively new presence in the aftermarket wheel category, but they have made a huge splash. Their well designed and manufactured wheels being ran on some of the worlds most desirable cars is a great way to grab attention. The other is to provide high quality photos of their products on the cars they were designed for.
The following photos have been sent to us by ADV.1 in preparation for some new developments from them. If these photos don’t sell you, I am not sure what will.
