Boosting the Polaris RZR XP & XP4 with the New KraftWerks Supercharger!

In 2014, the Polaris XP 1000 was born bringing a complete new beast to the side by side market. Its larger and more powerful 999cc engine, rigid chassis and improved long travel suspension was a game changer and left many RZR 800 & 900 owners making the jump to the 1000 XP and XP4.  This was good up until Polaris revealed their latest creation, the XP Turbo! With the addition of a turbocharger, this gave the RZR XP that extra edge of performance and left all of the non Turbo RZR 1000 owners in the dust up until now…  That’s because the guys over at KraftWerks have engineered a new simple bolt-on Supercharger kit that will take 2014-2017 Polaris RZR XP & XP4 up to a blistering 170HP and 120 lb-ft torque!  Having tested a 2017 RZR XP Turbo on our own Mustang Dyno, wheel horsepower on these stock is around 120hp.  We are talking about a huge gain over those XP Turbo guys.

The easy to install, bolt-on system features a compact Rotrex C15-60 unit with a CNC billet mount for instant boost and no turbo lag. It’s supported by an aluminum plenum and a sealed drive belt to prevent contaminants from entering when exposed to various climates. In other words, dominate every dune and face mud with confidence. Unlike other bolt-on systems, the RZR XP Supercharger System features a hefty sleek black intercooler and two powder coated aluminum intercooler pipes that are sure to make heads turn! This groundbreaking RZR XP supercharger kit is engineered to propel you into the winner’s circle.

Instead of taking a loss on your XP 1000 to trade for a XP Turbo, you can now beat your friends up with more power!  This kit is sold through Vivid Racing as one of the EXCLUSIVE KraftWerks partners.  Contact us for questions!  Order Online Here

Information about Kraftwerks R&D

The testing was done in several ways. We have experience designing supercharger systems for OEM supercars like The Rezvani Beast, as well as off the shelf kits for car from 1.5 liters to 6.0 liters that have all been proven to 50-100k miles in a multitude of cases. That’s the result of our methods so far.

Once the concept, and the initial design are finished, the parts are put into the stress analysis software via our 4 staff mechanical engineers and 2 engine builders who helped design the kits/components (these guys and girl have all been building everything from top fuel and funny cars to honda motors for the better parts of 20 years)

We make a rapid prototype/one-off then. We have 2 engine dyno’s that we use to help test durability (Ie. With a system hooked up to an engine in the engine room, we just beat the hell out of it) Hi revs, low revs, leave it running at partial throttle overnight etc. Very similar to OEM manufacturers.

It then goes to “first article” and is produced in a very limited amount – some for literal “destructive testing” or “fatigue testing”. Some of these (in this case, it was about half a dozen, maybe a couple more?) are installed on actual vehicles of friends, volunteers, beta testers, and ran. In this case, a few went back east, a few went local. during peak duning seasons we let a handful of them loose and told them to beat it up and give their feedback. So far the feedback has been excellent. Any real-world hiccups, we iron out here.

We then bring those beta testers back in and dissect all our components first to check for fatigue, wear, evidence of excess heat – then if the vehicle owner gives us the OK, then we tear down and check potential weak point in the host engine.

If everything checks out, we then go into full production!

It’s a time consuming process, but it helps ensure a good solid end product.

The Harley Davidson supercharger is a good example, it works, people want it – but we haven’t had the time to put all the right testing in. so it hasn’t been released yet.

As for elevation, we haven’t tested crazy extremes yet, but we have tested up the hill here in California, all the way to the lows of Nevada..so far there has been no significant changes noticed.

Although we did notice a pretty substantial decrease in power with crappy low grade fuels.

And its good to go for up to 32” (with factory tires at least) of standing water or mud.
