APR, the experts in brake solutions, is pleased to announce its new Direct Replacement Brake Discs and Advanced Street Pads. These products will fit 2005+ Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R, Audi A3/S3, and similar platforms. APR’s replacement brake discs and pads are a plug-and-play upgrade for your vehicle’s factory brakes. They offer a plethora of benefits like better brake consistency, less brake fade, and excellent modulation during repeated consecutive braking and more spirited driving applications. The rotors boast improved resistance to distortion, warping, and cracking at high temperatures as well. They pair perfectly with APR’s advanced street pads and deliver a no-compromise solution for rigorous daily driving.

The APR OE Replacement Advanced Street Pads are a direct upgrade for your Volkswagen or Audi’s factory brakes. The pad material will remain fade-free up to operating temperatures that far exceed the normal stock brake pads. The material used has a high friction co-efficient but is engineered to deliver torque curves that will extract the most from street-legal tires without overwhelming them and/or causing premature wheel lockup. The fairly low thermal conductivity of this friction material slows the rate of heat transfer to the brake calipers, pressure seals, and brake fluid. This pad compound delivers the type of pedal feel and fade resistance that is normally experienced with entry-level race pads. At the same time, it delivers exceptional cold response and low disc wear, which a race pad would not do when used on a streetcar.

Features of APR’s Advanced Street Pads:

  • Direct replacement front and rear brake pads
  • Reduced brake fade and improved brake consistency
  • High friction coefficient
  • Brake torque curves engineered not to overwhelm street-legal tires
  • Max operating temperature approaching race pad levels
  • Low disc wear
  • Low levels of heat transmission to the calipers, seals, and brake fluid
  • Don’t need to be warmed up before they are effective
  • Suitable for normal daily driving and spirited driving

APR Replacement Brake Discs are cast from a proprietary high-carbon cast iron alloy that offers incredible durability and stability under the high thermal loads experienced under spirited driving conditions. The slot pattern chosen for the APR discs provides even heat distribution across the disc surface, while delivering a strong initial bite and excellent release characteristics. Despite the aggressive slot pattern, these discs maintain low levels of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) under braking. Each individual APR disc assembly is measured for runout and disc thickness variation (DTV) using Swiss measuring equipment. In fact, these brake discs are machined to tolerances are up to three times tighter than the industry norm!

Moreover, APR Brake Discs are coated with a proprietary black surface coating and are chemically de-greased beforehand to ensure that no machining fluids or other contaminants can be absorbed by the brake pads and negatively affect performance. The coating is able to withstand extremely high temperatures and is flexible enough to expand and contract without flaking or peeling off the disc surface during the thermal expansion and contraction cycles. To top that all off, the APR brake discs require no cleaning or preparation before installation.

Features of APR’s Replacement Brake Discs

  • Direct replacement front and rear brake discs
  • Reduced brake fade and improved brake consistency
  • Improved initial braking response or bite
  • Improved brake modulation, especially during emergency stops
  • Improved resistance to rotor distortion, warping, and cracking at high temps
  • Slot pattern specifically designed to evenly distribute heat across the rotor surface
  • Slot pattern operates smoothly and quietly over a wide application range
  • Cast in Europe from a proprietary high carbon cast-iron alloy
  • Machined to tolerances up to three times tighter than the industry norm
  • Maximum Temperature Recording (MTR) system
  • Proprietary black, anti-contamination finish ensures no oils are transferred to the pads
  • Suitable for normal daily driving and spirited driving
