As you probably already know, the Ford GT one of the most iconic American supercars of all time. The most recent iteration is definitely the most controversial version of the GT, mostly due to its 3.5L EcoBoost engine. Regardless of whether you love or hate the latest Ford GT, there is no denying its superb performance. With that being said, there is still room for improvement.
Depending on how your Ford GT is optioned from the factory, it may have carbon fiber wheels. While the carbon fiber wheels are very lightweight and awesome, they’re also incredibly valuable and very expensive to repair. If you plan on using your Ford GT for street or track use, replacing your carbon fiber wheels with a set of aftermarket wheels is a great way to keep your OEM wheels protected and give your GT a slight performance boost.
In the past, BBS FI-R wheels were only available for the Porsche GT3 and BMW F8X, but now BBS is offering Ford GT fitment! Part of what makes FI-R wheels so lightweight are the milled spokes. By using a special multi-axis CNC milling process, the area of the spokes that do not contribute to its stability can be removed. This technology was first used on our Formula 1 wheels and it provides superb strength/weight.
