A major challenge for any race car is cooling. Specifically, keeping the engine cool is a major challenge. With the popularity of the BMW 2-Series and the M2, it’s common to see them used as race cars. To help keep the N55 engine cool, CSF developed a radiator specifically for racing applications.
This new radiator is not designed for street use, as it requires deleting the A/C condenser. With the A/C condenser gone, CSF was able to make this radiator 10mm thicker than the standard high-performance F87 M2 radiator. The extra 10mm allows for significantly more cooling, keeping the N55 cool.
Aside from being larger than the OEM radiator, this new CSF race-spec radiator uses a triple-pass flow structure. This structure allows the coolant to flow across the core of the radiator 3 times before exiting the radiator for the lowest outlet temperatures possible.
