The BMW M550i is a great vehicle for those looking to experience near-M5 performance for tens of thousands of dollars less. Rather than being a full-fledged M vehicle, it’s the M Performance version of BMW’s 5 Series sedan and a step above the top-of-the-line 540i M Sport model. The 2018 M550i is powered by gets BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine, which puts out 456 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. It also gets a sport exhaust system, larger M brakes, and a stiffer chassis that lowers the vehicle by nearly half an inch when compared to a standard 540i.
