Day 3 of Project Pepsi was a good one. This was one of the first time we got to start adding new parts to the car as we build this huge project. This is always fun to see how the car comes together and how things install. The 2 easiest upgrades we choose to start with was the JIC FLTA2 coilovers and the StopTech BIG front brake kit. Now, the reasons we use these products is not cause they are handouts, not because they look cool, and not because we know somebody that knows somebody. Vivid Racing has run StopTech and JIC on all of its cars from EVO’s to M3’s and even its Porsche 996.
The StopTech big brake kits are tested in the real world competition of World Challenge cars as well as in many street events. They are engineered and tested to give the best possible balance braking for cars. This kit is a 4 piston caliper that runs a large 14.1 inch drilled 2 piece rotor. It include steel braided brakelines, and Axxis Ultimate pads. This kit was done in a special blue color especially for our project Pepsi car.
Our next part is the JIC FLTA2 coilovers. We have run these in over 4 of our very own project cars. All of our cars we have raced on the track with the JIC and the competition’s coilovers. Our experience racing with JIC as well as JIC’s huge presence in Japanese circuit racing made the FLTA2 coilovers the perfect pick for this highly aggressive RX8. The coilovers give us front adjustable camber, 4 wheel 16 way adjustable dampening, and 4 wheel adjustable ride height.
This is just 1 stage in the suspension build up. Soon to follow will be JIC front and rear strut bars. Agency Power front and rear sway bars and endlinks, as well as Agency Power adjustable control arms. Stay Tuned!!!
