Truck life is awesome. So many things you can do that were not possible before! If you grabbed a soda can and threw it in the back seat of your car you would feel like a scumbag. But throw a can in your truck bed… who cares you will get later! But truck life is very boring on stock wheels. As I have repeated and repeated over the years, it does not matter which vehicle it is. Stock wheels just don’t get me excited. McLaren, Porsche, BMW, Subaru, Audi, Mitsubishi… first mod is always the wheels. This 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is no difference. The black 18 inch TRD Pro wheels are nice and come with a set of 275/65/18 inch Michelin LTX tires. But for some reason it does not look like a TRD should. The wheels are skinny and not an aggressive offset. It needs something moarrr!
We decided to go with a set of the Fuel Wheels Vector D600 in bronze. The 18×9 5×150 +20mm wheels give a perfect stance (yes I said stance) to the truck. They stick out just far enough to give it that slight baja look. The 1 piece forged wheel is extremely strong and durable for whatever you might throw at the 5,500 lb truck. These wheels are designed to be used with the factory TPMS sensors and include a black beadlock style ring. For the tires we went with the Nitto A/T Terra Grappler G2 tires. Some suggested we get the M/T but since this is mostly driven on the street, we wanted a good driving tire for long trips. They are a 295/70/18 at all four corners which is almost a 34.5 inch setup. Only at full lock to lock is there rubbing on the front fender liner or rear of the front fender liner. Normal driving has no issues. With such a huge following, this was a perfect wheel to show off the Cement Gray TRD Pro.
