Vivid Racing has one main trade mark, the best JDM cars you will find! So of course we had to put on the old Monster Sport Carbon Trunk. Monster has a huge name on our vehicle and our previous cars. The carbon trunk is a piece of work, show style, and quality. We needed to be set aside from competition, we have now done it again.
The trunk was a breeze to install. We basically unbolted the stock trunk, the latch, and lock mechanism and begin the process. First we had to unbolt the wing. Very simple. After pulling that off we drilled the underside of the carbon trunk for the stock wing to go on. Replaced the locking mechanism and latch and screwed the trunk on. Since the trunk only weighs about 5lbs saving you 20lbs, the trunk springs had to be removed to fit good.
Finally got the trunk together and grabbed the camera for some action. With the EVO clean and looking good, we followed it through some of the cool areas of Phoenix.
Through bridges, tunnels, streets, and more, we snapped some beautiful pics of our true JDM EVO VIII. The quality of our carbon trunk, wing, intake, mirrors, make the car stand out a bit more. Once we get that wing then we will be good to go!
