How to do an ECU Tune on the BMW M3 Competition F80

The BMW M3 is one of the most iconic performance cars of all time and it has been the benchmark for performance sedans for decades. The current F8X series cars offer more performance than any M3 before, but enthusiasts always want more. With BMW’s shift from naturally aspirated to turbocharged engines comes an increase in tune-ability.

Where previous M3s had very small power gains from aftermarket parts or tuning, the F80 M3 sees a massive increase in horsepower and torque with some simple tuning. This is where our tuning division, VR Tuned, comes into play. While other tuning solutions on the market require you to have your ECU popped open, with our tune everything is done through the OBD port, making it possible for you to tune your M3 at home in your driveway!

To flash your M3 in the comfort of your on driveway, you will need a Windows powered computer or a Mac dual-booted into Windows. Boot up the VR Tuned software and follow the instructions. If you follow the instructions, the entire flashing process should take under 30 minutes. You can even revert back to the stock file if you need to.

Aside from the big increase in power, our VR Tuned ECU flash improves throttle response and decreases turbo lag. With features such as Pops and Bangs, cold start delete, race exhaust updates, and even changing the vehicles Performance Display, the VR Tuned ECU Flash has tons to offer.

Looks easy as can be to Flash ECU

Tried to stop by to gather material for an article I was
writing for our Maverick publication on 8/1/19. The lady
I talked to on the phone said not possible. Not sure why as I drive my ‘15 BGTS 100’s if miles out of the way.
I eventually gave up. Just curious why you would not
let me talk with Vivid personnel and snap a few pics.
