One of the best parts of owning a Jeep, aside from off-roading, is the massive world of aftermarket support. It’s very easy to accidentally damage the OEM JK Wrangler bumpers off-road, making upgraded bumpers a necessity. There are lots of aftermarket bumpers to choose from, but few match the quality and design of Addict Desert Designs’ (ADD) bumpers.
For the JK Wrangler, ADD just released a new front bumper, rear bumper, and rear bumper tire carrier. They designed these new bumpers to improve approach and departure angles by using a much slimmer and tighter design than the OEM bumpers. They’re constructed from high-quality steel and feature a black powder coat finish.
The front bumper offers a few different options. The base bumper features a large center cutout with mounting tabs for a 20” LED light bar or five LED light cubes. The top corners feature mounts for 2x LED light cubes per side. A top hoop and winch mount are optional add ons for those who need extra functionality.
The rear bumper features two small cutouts for LED light cubes, a great feature when you need to reverse out of a sticky situation on the trail. To help you when you’re stuck, ADD includes two reinforced clevis mounts which allow for the use of 3/4” D-Rings.
The rear tire carrier is a separate piece which is designed the work with the ADD Stealth Fighter rear bumper. Using two spherical bearing mounts and a strong steel design, the tire carrier allows for mounting of 40” tire. The tire mounts swings open with the OEM tailgate.
