New Agency Power Focus ST/RS Bypass and Blow-Off Valves

Although the Focus ST and Focus RS we’re initially met with some skepticism, these two cars have quickly become some of the most popular hot-hatches on the market. These both use small EcoBoost engines, the 2.0L and 2.3L respectively, and they both use very small turbochargers which produce massive amounts of boost. To discharge excess boost when the throttle plate closes, both vehicles use a bypass valve (also known as a diverter valve or recirculating valve). Unfortunately, the OEM valve is prone to leaking or failing. Luckily, Agency Power has new BOV/BPVs for both vehicles!

For the 2.3L EcoBoost found in the RS, Agency Power is offering a bypass valve and a blow-off valve. Both valves are designed as an OEM replacement and bolt on to the compressor housing in the same location as the OEM valve. Not only do these valves look much better than the stock bypass, they’re significantly stronger and less prone to leaking or failing in high boost applications. This is especially important if you install a hybrid turbo which moves significantly more air than the OEM turbocharger.

For the 2.0L EcoBoost found in the ST, Agency Power is offering a blow-off valve. Just like the valves mentioned above, this one works just like stock and mounts to the stock location. With a stronger overall design, it’s a great upgrade from factory. It’s only a matter of time until the OEM valve leaks, especially in a tuned vehicle, so upgrading to a better bypass valve or blow-off valve can save you from headaches down the road. If you’re unsure of the differences, read our BPV vs BOV Guide.
