The Dinan High-Flow Air Mass Meter complements the E39 M5’s cold air intake system by further increasing the engine’s ability to breathe. The high-flow design features a larger internal diameter that enables air to flow more freely from the cold air intake to the intake plenum for enhanced power. Dinan’s air mass meters are crafted from high-grade aluminum for the ultimate strength and durability, when compared to the plastic stock units. They have also been engineered to accommodate the M5’s factory electronics for seamless integration. Stage 3 engine software delivers the proper engine management to take advantage of the modification resulting in maximum power gains and BMW-like drivability.
While the renewed Dinan E39 M5 Air Mass Meters are identical to their successors when it comes to functionality, the re-released kits look different. The original release did not include any branding for a stealthy OEM appearance. The new kit, however, features the outlined Dinan logo that was popularized from the BMW E39 540i Air Mass Meter. This request was often made and should now please most BMW owners, while also allowing the purists to be able to decipher between an original unit and a later release.
