Although the FK8 Civic Type R is one of the best front-wheel-drive performance cars ever, it’s not perfect. To appeal to a wide range of possible buyers, the sounds of the exhaust and turbocharger are pretty quiet, as many consumers prefer a quiet car over a loud one. An aftermarket exhaust cranks the exhaust volume way up, but the noises from the turbo will still be quiet, specifically, the blow-off noise will be quiet. Everyone loves that iconic “psh” noise of a blow-off valve, and now you can get that noise out of your FK8 with an HKS SQV Blow-off-valve.
When combined with the HKS intercooler piping kit, your FK8 will not only have better throttle response but will have that iconic “psh” noise we all know and love. Unlike other blow-off-valves on the market, the HKS SQV uses a pull-type relief design ensures consistent operation regardless of boost pressure. If you’ve been looking to upgrade your FK8’s BPV to a BOV, this HKS SQV is perfect for you.

Hey guys my friend has just bought this Bov for his type r and were getting ready to install it onto the car but when looking at some forums and other sites to double confirm the installation i came across people saying that this bov could cause some damage if driven and doing pulls greater than 4000rpm. Just confirming with you is this issue still occurring or is there a tune that must be done aswell to prevent any damage ?
Thanks Jarryd
Damage should not occur unless the product was not properly installed.
