What Porsche did with the GT3’s engine is nothing short of amazing. As time has gone on, the 911 has gotten larger and some enthusiasts prefer the smaller Cayman. What if you could bring some of the performance of a GT3 over the Cayman’s 3.4L? Well, now you can thanks to Agency Power’s new GT3 throttle body upgrade kit.
This new kit from Agency Power utilizes the OEM GT3 82mm throttle body. The GT3 throttle body uses a different bolt pattern than the factory Cayman throttle body, so Agency Power includes CNC machined 6061 aluminum adapter plate. Agency Power even made it easy to install the adapter plate by using a keyed fitment which makes installation much easier.
The whole reason this kit works so well is that of Porsche’s plenum design which can flow massive amounts of air. The larger GT3 throttle body allows much more air to get into the plenum which results in more air going into the engine. More air going into the engine means more fuel can be added, and this adds up to an increase in power. The larger throttle body doesn’t work with the factory intake piping, so Agency Power includes a silicone y-pipe.
At this point, you may be wondering how much power this kits gains, after all, that’s the entire point of this kit. As we tested on our dyno, the found a peak gain on 20hp at 6435RPM, and about a 10-15hp gain to 5,000RPM to redline. Tuning isn’t required for this kit to work, but you can expect even better results with a VR Tuned kit.
