We brought out the Vivid Racing drift car to the November 26th ASRA event at Phoenix International Raceway for some initial testing. With stickers in place, tires mounted, and the car ready, we wanted to see if it could handle some track abuse. Previous tuning unveiled the car making 280WHP with 250ft tq on 91 octane at only 14 pounds of boost. We let the car out on the track for some laps. Handling was dialed with our JIC complete suspension setup. The 2.4L build KA motor delivered the power, even though it had much more to give. With some small gauge issues, temperature readings, and fluid leaks, the car made it through the entire day without any major incidents.
Back in the garage, our Project 240sx will get some adjustments made to the engine, tuning, intercooler and cooling setup, as well as interior driver accessories. The VR drift car will be debuting at PIR’s drift event on Dec 3 and 4 so stay tuned!!!
