To maintain the ideal suspension geometry on the FK8 Civic Type R, Honda was forced to use large 20″ wheels with a very high 60mm offset. Although this gives the FK8 an ideal suspension setup (on paper), the OEM wheels are far too big for the Civic. Luckily, replacing the OEM wheels with smaller and more aggressive wheels is very easy.

Due to the massive popularity of the FK8 and the need for wheels with better fitment, Vivid Racing has stocked up on Volk Racing TE37SL and TE37 Saga Time Attack. We’re also offering WedsSport RN-05M in Samurai Gold, a color that no one else has for FK8 fitment RN-05M wheels!

The WedsSport RN-05M feature a strong and lightweight flow forged construction with side cut spokes for additional weight reduction. A unique feature of the RN-05M is the shape of the rim which allows for a large amount of air volume for better tire stability and load management. For the 18×9.5 +36mm fitment, these wheels weigh around 21.4lbs.

The TE37SL and TE37 Saga Time Attack both utilize Rays’ mold-form forged construction. The mold-form forging process creates the shape of the wheel during the forging process. By creating the shape of the wheel during the forging process, the grain of the metal flows with the shape of the wheel, resulting in much greater strength.
