Car hoods may seem like just a simple part, but they actually play a very important role in protecting its engine and contributing to aerodynamics. It is also common for a hood to contain a hood ornament, hood scoop, power bulge, and/or wiper jets.

A hood/bonnet scoop is an upraised component on your car’s hood that allows a flow of air to directly enter the engine compartment. Car hoods are often manufactured with built-in scoops made of steel, fiberglass or carbon fiber. Nevertheless, if your hood does not have a built-in scoop, you can always install one as an add-on mod. Scoops are a popular alternative to buying a completely different aftermarket hood with vents, and are usually less expensive. Scoops are a great addition to your car whether you’re looking to feed your engine more power-building air, or simply change the front appearance.
