BMW never seizes to mold performance and luxury into one elegant package. The M6 is the perfect example of this as it utilized the modern concept styling along with finding success in their twin-turbo platform. Featuring a 4.4L twin-turbo V8, the M6 produces a modest 560HP and 500 lbs/ft of torque which gave owners the thrill they were seeking when purchasing this chassis.
Modifying such a vehicle has turned out to be less of a headache than previous generation BMWs. Our customer purchased an aFe Magnum FORCE Stage-2 cold air intake for their M6. To their surprise, it increased the torque by 33 lbs/ft thanks to the elimination of restriction throughout the intake. This was achieved with the larger diameter intake and improved air filter design.
Without restriction, the turbos can breathe which assists in the torque improvement. Our customer wanted to see the gains for themselves and put the M6 on a dyno which showed significant gains. The gains provided a much-needed increase in torque and allow the glorious turbos to be heard.
Being that the M6 utilizes a MAF Sensor (Mass Air Flow), the intake tubes feature sensor flanges to retain the factory sensor location. The aFe intakes keep the sensors in their factory location to eliminate the chance of a check engine light due to turbulence from the throttle bodies. Precise placement for these sensors is essential which is why aFe engineered the Magnum FORCE intake with utmost quality.
