Stock EVO was unacceptable. Not for any reasons as we are crazy! Our EVO is one week old and it is time to get crackin. As we called around ordering parts, our friends at JIC Magic in California had our answer. A JIC titanium catback exhaust. Not only was this JDM, it was one of the best crafted pieces I have ever seen! Although we had a ton of other parts ordered, this was the first to be installed and dyno tested.
We crawled underneath the EVO to check out the stock system. Nicely designed for being OEM, but not up to Vivid standards. The exhaust had many restrictions in it and it was time to be replaced. We removed the stock system from the car and prepared the 3 inch titanium catback for its connection. We were astounded by the weight of the titanium JIC catback compared to stock. Saving over 20lbs was our first bonus.
Our angled JIC titanium catback had been installed and it was now time to fire that baby up. It sounded awesome! A quiet idol rumble with a Ferrari like noise with revs. Perfect JDM exhaust install. Now it was time to see the performance of the catback compared to stock.
Probably expecting not much as it was only a catback. As he rumbled through the gears until 3rd, it was time to give it the test. Full throttle! The dyno graph shoots up. More torque and more horsepower. How much? Well 13 wheel horsepower from just a catback? We were impressed. 245.5 horsepower. Game on!
