If you have a Porsche 997 Carrera or any NA vehicle for that matter, you are probably reading forums and googling what are the best mods to put on your car. The same couple of parts do the trick each time and this Porsche 997 Carrera S is no different. With a normally aspirated car you want to get more air in through the intake, while allowing the exhaust to breathe better without compromising torque. With an intake and exhaust, doing a ECU tune will help optimize the cars air/fuel mixtures as well as adjust the timing accordingly. Together, this package gives you the ultimate in performance upgrade. Improving upon low end throttle response, increasing the mid-range pull, and enhancing the top end power is what these mods will do. So what did this package include? We used the Agency Power Mufflers, K&N Cold Air Intake, and VR Tuned ECU Flash.
One question always asked on the Porsche 996 and 997 is what will the cat delete pipes and headers do? Having owned a 996 Carrera, I have tried many different exhaust products and combinations. Doing the cat delete pipes will make your car substantially louder. Almost cup car like. But eliminating this backpressure will cause you to lose a lot of low end torque. Its good to keep the stock cats or high flow cats on the car. The headers are a good upgrade but to be last if you are looking to still spend some money. They will not be as noticeable as the other 3 parts mentioned above. But you will gain some nice low end power and the tone will be slightly louder.
