When you think of the wheel industry highest quality of wheels, HRE Wheels really does come to mind. Vivid Racing has used HRE Wheels on past project cars and there is nothing bad about them. They started trends, they created colors, they reinvented themselves. But several years ago, the wheel industry exploded and if you had a website and added the name Forged to your company, you had a wheel biz. For some that worked, for others it faded. But HRE has come back stronger than ever and this years SEMA booth proved that. With probably $2M in cars and a booth alone that cost around $200K, HRE brought out the big guns showing off some new wheel styles like their new Classic Series and their private label RTR wheel. One of the riskier moves was when HRE launched their Vintage Series a year or so ago. It worked, and even looks amazing on the most expensive cars out there. The new wheels on the red 991 GT3 are amazing and being able to snag a Lamborghini Hurrcan and a Porsche 918 Spyder says “we are not messing around”. I do see a little bit of Rotiform influence, but then quickly shut my mount on those red tinted S1 wheels!
