The Strongest, Most Advanced Design On The Market

In 2008 AMS set out to design a kit that matched the quality of OEM Mitsubishi components while providing the extraordinary power and response AMS is known for. To accomplish this level of quality, reliability and performance, they created the industry's first cast tubular V-band exhaust manifold. By applying cast stainless steel construction, they eliminated the restrictive design geometry and the possibility of cracking found with hand-fabricated headers. By casting the manifold, they were able to maximize exhaust flow while utilizing the small space available between the engine and firewall of the EVO X.

Quick Spooling, Yet Produces Massive Power; The Best Of Both Worlds

By applying the latest in AMS billet wheel and V-band turbo technology, AMS set the bar even higher. Billet compressor wheels are not only lighter, which helps quicken spool time, but they also have superior aerodynamic profiles that compress more air efficiently: less heat = more power. Ceramic ball-bearing center sections are more durable, have less friction, and don't require coolant unlike traditional ball-bearing units.

V-band turbos use a lightweight housing which has proven to flow better, spool quicker and make more power than their flanged counterparts. They also require less complex hardware which provides easy fitment and a durable seal - eliminating the need for a gasket.

AMS 950XP: The Newest Generation Of Turbo Technology

At AMS they are constantly improving their turbo's in search of the ultimate balance of power and response for your car. The AMS 950XP EVO X Turbo features a newly revised wheel design featuring a slightly larger turbine for even more top-end power without sacrificing spool up or response! You still get the adequate response of the old 950R down low, with the added benefit of increased horsepower throughout the power-band. In addition, AMS includes a stainless steel turbine housing for added strength, increased heat capabilities and superior corrosion resistance. The 950XP is still considered a drag racing turbo but can be used on the street.

AMS REQUIRES that all Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X's run the aluminum valve cover found on most 2008-2009 EVO's (part number 1035A810) when installing an AMS EVO 10 Turbo kit. "I drive a 2009 e92 M3. It was completely stock, and ran the 19" RE-11s. A few months ago, I started tracking the car at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca. The first day, I realized that stock pads performed poorly, so I upgraded to Carbotech XP-10s. At my second track day, wore the Carbotech pads down to the rivets, and got the brakes so hot that I actually melted a brake line where it attaches to the front caliper. After putting ss lines on, I upgraded to the XP-12s. I was to try them out my first go at Laguna weekend event. The first day was great--really loved the performance. But I noticed early the second day that the pads were toast, down to the rivets. The RE-11s were wearing (they have about 30K miles on them), and I wanted to upgrade to an R-compound tire. Not too many options for 19s, so I opted for the 18" Volk Racing TE37SLs, and went 9.5 and 10.5, with +22mm and +20mm offsets. I paired them up with Toyo Proxes R888s, with 265/35/18 97Y RD in the front and 295/30/18 98Y RD in the rear. The wheels and tires fit the car without any problem or mods (no cutting)--indeed, I probably could have gone 305s. I also upgraded to Pagid 19s (tho I left the Carbotech XP-12s on the rear). I tried everything out at Thunderhill last weekend. There was a lot of rain, and so both mornings were very wet--and slick on the new tires. But the afternoons were ideal, especially Sunday. I still need to work on dialing in the tire pressures, but the grip was phenominal, especially on the wide sweepers (Turn 2 and Turn 3). I could easily handle Turn 2 in 4th gear, and there seemed to be no end to the lateral grip. Harry's Lap Timer was measuring well beyond 1.0 g in that corner. More importantly, the car felt very balanced. I only experienced a tiny bit of oversteer in Turn 11, but that is because the track was green and I was very early onto the power. The Pagids seemed to wear much better than the Carbotechs (I was able to drive two days without getting into the rivets), but they don't have the same feel. I tend to brake pretty hard, and the M3 is a very heavy car. It seemed like the brakes weren't frequently at the right temp--either too hot or too cold, and thus warranted less confidence. Part of this was due to the track/weather conditions. But there were a couple of times coming hard down the back straight into Turn 14 where I wondered if the car would slow enough for the turn. I probably need to put Pagids on the rear, and hit the track again. The guys at Vivid really took care of me, especially Ahmed. Since all of this is new to me, I have a million questions. He was always very responsive and provided me with the information I needed to make the right decisions. I am really happy with the entire setup, and would recommend Vivid without hesitation."
