Vivid Racing HAS OEM UTV Parts!

ATVs have either three or four wheels. Tires are kept at a lower pressure than a standard car or UTV tires. Utility Terrain Vehicles, or UTVs, are built and used more for work than for recreation. They are large, powerful, capable of seating passengers side by side, and built with plenty of storage space. They are commonly used to transport equipment and supplies to locations that make it impractical or impossible to use a truck.

Like a car, UTVs have a standard wheelbase (four wheels). However, they can have more wheels for specialized purposes. UTVs are faster and more potent than ATVs but not as agile. Their top speed is generally between 25 mph and 50 mph. UTVs have a lot of storage space in them. Most known for transporting feed, hay, and farm supplies, they are becoming more popular in non-agricultural communities. They are not unusual in schools, where they are used to transport water jugs, sports equipment, and sometimes, people.

Vivid Racing sells UTV parts like intakes, drivetrains, exhausts, and many more!

Intakes

UTVs are just like cars. It has four wheels, it has a steering wheel, and just like any normal car, an internal combustion engine. And because UTV’s have engines, they must also have air intakes to feed the engine of air to make power. A UTV’s air intake system is made to be more durable than an OEM car intake because a UTV is usually driven in harsher conditions as opposed to a street car’s mundane commute. Aside from being made stronger, a UTV intake works similarly as a normal car intake.

Some UTV’s have air boxes that only allow cold air to enter the engine. An air box is an empty chamber on the intake side of most modern internal combustion engines. It collects air from outside and feeds it to the intake hoses of each cylinder. It also protects the air filter from the various harsh elements that could potentially weaken and damage it. This allows the air filter to do its job of filtering out any impurities in the air before it flows into the engine.

Drivetrain

In a UTV’s case, their drivetrain made even tougher than that of a normal street car.  It’s a challenge for many UTV owners to get through tough terrain with a stock gearbox and a front differential. Mass-produced stock gears crack when subjected to extreme racing conditions. Some manufacturers assemble their gearboxes with low-quality bearings that cannot stand up to these conditions either. Factory-assembled gearboxes also neglect critical adjustments to the gear stacks, which may cause the gears to lose their optimum mesh, thus accelerating wear that can lead to complete failure.

When you start a UTV with a CVT and just sit it in the idle position, the drive pulley doesn't pinch the belt, so no power is distributed down to the ground. As you give the UTV some gas, the drive pulley is fast enough to start pinching the belt and the power is transferred to the driven pulley. Both pulleys have an inner valley where the belt can effectively ride up and down to change the gear ratio.

Hydrostatic transmission is a fluid power system with infinitely variable control independent of the speed of the engine. In this scenario, the UTV engine is powered by a hydraulic pump called an axial piston pump that has a handful of pistons in a circular array sitting on a plate. When the operator uses the drive pedal, the plate is rotated in one direction and generates a flow of hydraulic fluid to the drive train. This fluid pressure control is what gives you control of the forward power of the vehicle. When you let the pedal go, the machine comes to a stop like a tractor does.

Body Panels

There are many aftermarket UTV body panels on the market to choose from, so how do you know which ones are best for yours? Vivid Racing offers parts from suppliers that are enthusiasts and restore or modify their UTVs just like you. Their standards are incredibly high, and they wouldn’t make anything they wouldn’t put on their own UTVs. The panels we feature are made to the original dimensions and produced using modern tooling and the latest manufacturing techniques. You can be confident that the panels you purchase from us will look and fit the same as the originals.
