You know how some people just cannot leave a good thing alone? Kinda like continually tweaking on a performance car when it already runs great. Well, that's how it is at Blouch Performance Turbo and we couldn't resist tweaking the "Polka Pickle" to squeeze a little more "juice" out of it ;0).In order to "juice" it up, we gave the Pickle a 10cm2 turbine housing to reduce turbine inlet pressure and engine pumping losses. Next, we took advantage of the latest "XT-R" fully-machined billet compressor wheel technology to optimize the aero of this little cucumber and increase compressor flow to 49 lbs/min within the same inducer geometry.All of this combined with a custom high flow low inertia turbine wheel and low friction low inertia ceramic ball bearing technology to produce a complete bolt-on package that includes braided stainless steel turbo oil feed line, oil feed restrictor, turbo oil drain tube, coolant lines and turbo mounting gaskets. Adjustable upgrade actuator is standard issue on the Dominator 2.5XT-R and is pre-calibrated to operate at 15 PSI unless otherwise specified. Options includes black ceramic coated turbine housing and 3" bellmouth inlet compressor housing.So does it dance? You bet is does - quick spool, a nice broad flat torque curve and awesome peak horsepower that just keeps on pulling. Blouch Turbo (formally called Blouch Performance Turbo) was founded in February 1980 by a man named Robert Blouch Sr. His son, Bob Jr., joined the business in 1990 and spearheaded the development of bolt-on upgrade turbos for the emerging four-cylinder sport compact vehicle market. Just a few years later, in 1996, Blouch Turbo became a Mitsubishi Turbo distributor and helped further the development of bolt-on upgrades for Diamond-Star Motors. The horsepower potential for these turbos was amplified even more by installing Garrett compressors and turbines that were quite advanced for that time.
In 2000, Blouch Performance Turbo (BPT) became an IHI Turbo distributor; this prompted the progression of upgraded turbochargers for the growing Subaru WRX and STi market. Blouch Turbo was added to the elite group of Garrett Performance distributors for Garrett turbochargers and related products in 2006. At that time, BPT was actually the only Garrett Performance supplier on the East Coast.
Today, Blouch Performance Turbo offers a comprehensive lineup of custom performance bolt-on upgrades for popular vehicles like the Subaru WRX/STi, Mitsubishi EVO VIII, IX, and X, Porsche 996 and 997, and Dodge SRT4. All BPT products are manufactured using the latest state-of-the-art technology and materials.
