The Story Behind ARP Bolts

ARP (Automotive Racing Products) was founded by Gary Holzapfel in 1968 when he noticed his drag-racing friends succumbing to bolt-induced engine failure as a result of poor-quality fasteners. He drew upon his expertise in the aerospace industry to develop a solution, which turned into a successful business nonetheless. 

Since its inception, ARP has been engineering and perfecting a wide range of bolts, studs, nuts, and other fasteners for engines, cylinder heads, headers, wheels, and transmissions. Today, ARP remains the undisputed world leader in automotive fasteners. Racing aficionados everywhere know and recognize the ARP brand and can vouch for its quality.

Located in Ventura, California, all ARP processes from raw wire to finished fasteners are conducted in-house, right here in the USA. For example, while 8740 Chromoly steel has four different grades, ARP only uses the top two, SDF and CHQ. These grades cost twice as much as the lower commercial and aircraft grades, but deliver “zero defect” quality that you can trust each and every time.
