The Pagani Zonda R at SEMA is the Official GAME OVER

Publishsed by Dan on November 4th, 2009 | Posted in Random World | No Comments »

…And Pirelli Tire wins.  We are not even at SEMA but after uncovering this Blog at CarDomain, we had to show this off to our viewers.  This thing is LEGIT.  Original Article Below:

There are few things in life I love more than exotic cars, and they aren’t things I can mention here. But as funny as it sounds, at a show life SEMA, your garden variety Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Aston Martins don’t really pop like they do back in the real world. Pagani’s Zonda R, on the other hand, stands out like a nun in a strip club. The presence this car has simply can’t be underestimated… It looks less like a race car than it does a manifestation of technology from a hostile alien race, and it out Batmobiles any Batmobile in history. Ever. Just getting to stand next to this car gave me butterflies. More pics after the jump.

If you follow Vivid Racing, then I am sure you remember our Flat Red Nissan GT-R we built and made a complete custom body kit for.  Yes, at that time, there was nothing so we improvised.  But soon after, Wald Japan released their incredible and aggressive aero kit for the R35 and the opinions started flying.  Soon after kits started selling and even one of our customers in Dubai outfitted his GTR with a Wald kit.  Now….  Jonari Corp, USA importers for Wald Japan has their Nissan GT-R ready for SEMA.  Check out these pics of the stunning white Nissan GTR with upgraded wheels and carbon fiber accents.

Honda Fans, Remember the CR-X? How about the CR-Z!

Publishsed by Dan on October 27th, 2009 | Posted in Random World | No Comments »

Yahoo Motors – This spiritual successor to the venerable Honda CR-X originally made its debut as a concept car two years ago at the Tokyo Motor Show. And now, at this year’s show, Honda has revealed a new CR-Z, a 2-seat hybrid sports coupe that looks very much like the final production version scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. in the second half of 2010.

“Beyond great styling and features, the CR-Z will bring new levels of engagement and fun to customers interested in a small car or a hybrid vehicle,” says Eric Berkman, Honda’s vice president of planning.

Fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension, the upcoming CR-Z certainly will be engaging for the driver, the first hybrid sports coupe on the market. Although the car on display at Tokyo has a tiny back seat, the production CR-Z (which makes its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January) is a sporty 2-seater, one with the added practicality of a hatchback.

Conveying its fun-to-drive nature, the CR-Z boasts a bold grille, slit openings for the headlamps and strong character lines that give this Honda an aggressive, angular look. It’s taller and less rounded that the original concept, making it much more practical and ready for production.

One styling cue that connects the CR-Z to the highly entertaining original CR-X is the shape of the rear quarter glass. Beneath the hood, the front-wheel-drive CR-Z is powered by a stronger version of the Insight’s 1.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist works like an electric supercharger, effectively boosting both off-the-line response and fuel economy.

The CR-Z concept’s interior features more glitz than the production model will, but the layout will remain the same, with the main instrument bezel positioned behind a 3-spoke steering wheel flanked by pods for the auxiliary controls. With the CR-Z—which goes into production at Honda’s Suzuka factory in February—it appears that we will now be able to mix a healthy dose of driving fun with environmental consciousness.

Like all new performance vehicles, you will see products first at the Honda Performance Racing Store of Vivid Racing.

Ferromatic, Why Paddle Shifters Rule – Spoof

Publishsed by Dan on October 21st, 2009 | Posted in Random World | No Comments »

Someone forwarded this to me and I was bored until the Ferrari with F1 paddle shifters hit the first straight.  Quote from the video poster, “This video is a complete spoof intended to poke fun back at three guys that have ribbed me about having a Formula 1 (paddle shifter) gearbox in my racecar. I had no idea it would become popular outside of a small group of ‘buddies’. The fake quote from Enzo Ferrari is a spoof and the photo of Danny Devito is only because the four of us are big fans of the show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. Enjoy.”
