As much as I want to insist that I am a racer, I have to remember that in my business, it is sometimes how good you look, not how fast you go. So with that being said the EVO VIII needed to get a little boom in its interior. With the help of our friends at Rockford Fosgate/MB Quart, we were about to put the ultimate booming system in the car.
What I know about stereos is what some of you know about women, not much. Now that we are on the same thought process here it goes. We purchased a Clarion 935 DVD indash unit for the car. This unit has a seperate brain, a flip in 7 inch LCD screen, and is touch screen. Why I choose this one? The touch screen was a little nicer compared to my Pioneer in the WRX I have. Makes using the unit easier and more simplistic.
Next we received from Rockford/MB Quart a full set of door speakers, amps, and subs. The 10inch subs were big enough for noise yet small enough for drivability. I don’t need the ass end of my car hanging down! We also received to 2 amps and a cross over for the system.
After it was all installed, the box made and painted, and listening to the system, save your dollars. Show cars need stereo but the factory system sounds good, saves weight, and is more space friendly. Do I like the system, yes, it sounds great, looks cool, but really not practical for everyday driving.
