One of the most restrictive parts for air flow on the car next to the exhaust is the intercooler piping. With flex material, small diameter, and non-smooth bends, the stock piping is restrictive and holding back much needed horsepower. As I was away at the Gumball 3000 for this install, what I can can tell you is make sure the pipe kit is designed for your EVO VIII. Our Ralliart Intercooler Piping Kit was for a VII and some EASY modification was necessary.
The biggest difference and only piece needed to modify was where the piping connects to the throttle body. We had to cut it shorter about 2 inches. All the other components fit great. The bumper had to be removed obviously to install it, but the other pieces were very easy. The blue silicon joints accented the engine bay nicely and the color matched the engine cover great!
Flow was definitely increased. With quicker throttle response, more torque and power, we definitely noticed a difference with the pipe kit. We will have dyno results soon from the updated modifications. We would definitely recommend this upgrade!
