Brixton Forged Wheels

“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”

-    Brixton Wheels Mantra

Brixton ForgedTM wheels are entirely designed and crafted in our manufacturing facility based in Los Angeles, CA. Since the beginning, we have voluntarily chosen to produce locally and as a result, make full use of the outstanding talents of our Engineers and maintain complete control over the quality of our wheels at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Delivering the finest, lightweight forged wheels in its class, our performance-driven philosophy has led us to overcome the limitations defined by traditional wheel companies. Changing with the seasons, each Brixton Forged wheelset is designed, engineered, manufactured and tested exclusively for you.

The Process

Each individual Brixton Forged wheel set is entirely designed and manufactured in their California-based manufacturing facility. Since its inception, Brixton Forged has voluntarily chosen to produce locally. As a result, they make full use of the outstanding talents of our engineers and maintain full control of the quality of their wheels at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Each wheelset undergoes a rigorous design and engineering process, ensuring a specific final product that encompasses all the dynamic needs of our customer vehicles while at the same time infusing their personal tastes, from fittings and configurations to finishes. At this stage, each set of wheels undergoes a complete Finite Element Analysis (FEA) taking into account brake weight, dynamic cornering fatigue, dynamic radial fatigue and simulated impact tests following SAE, JWL and VIA standards. Once completed and verified by their Engineers, the final model is sent for the programming of lathe profiling and milling operations.

Quality begins at the foundation of each product; a strong foundation is the basis for a quality result. Locally sourced and forged, we use APP raw forgings throughout the entire production line. APP is the same OEM forging supplier to supercar companies such as Lamborghini and Ferrari.

APP Aerospace Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum forgings guarantee the highest quality and predictable grain structure and are certified by TUV and AS9100-C. The result is a superior foundation guaranteed to last and a reliable high-performance product that meets the highest standards of their team.

Each profile offered is a unique combination of lines, curves and radii produced by their Engineers. At this stage, the raw aluminum forging is machined to the rough profile of the ordered wheel set and is carefully sculpted to maximize the concavity or half depth of the rim depending on the application. The profiles are uniquely optimized to create tighter machining tolerances that minimize backsliding and excess aluminum, resulting in a lightweight forged wheel with the highest structural rigidity.

Once the perfect profile has been achieved, the raw aluminum components reach the HAAS CNC Mill, where the Engineers design is converted into a complex raw G-Code designed to be read by the mill. This is where the designs come to life as the G-Code drives the mill through a series of pre-selected tool sets and milling paths into the face of a solid block of forged aluminum. Using the highest quality CNC mills available in the industry today, they are able to achieve extremely tight tolerances, minimizing any rim and surface defects.

While industry standard runout tests (how round the final wheel is) are within 0.030′′ (30 thousandths), no Brixton Forged wheel will pass QC unless it falls below 0015′′ (15 thousandths). However, they are more consistent in testing runouts within 0.008′′ (8 thousandths) to ensure low runout numbers and no vibration of the wheel at high speeds.

Why Should I Install Aftermarket Wheels?

  • Aftermarket wheels have been engineered to be lightweight, so these see the primary use in motorsports.
  • A lighter wheel reduces un-sprung weight, resulting in faster acceleration and significantly improved handling.
  • A bigger wheel allows space for much larger brake rotors and calipers—usually a must when a car is built to race.
  • A larger wheel is more attractive in design compared to dull stock wheels.
