Auto Dolly wanted an engine stand that would do two things: Fold-up into a small, easily transportable unit AND tilt-up to make many engine rebuilding and painting operations easier. A logical desire, except for one thing: Nobody made one. So they made one for themselves. It worked so well, and offered so many advantages that when a racing friend saw it, he had to have one. Then they unveiled it at a big trade show, where it became the talk of the show. There is nothing else like it on the market, and now you can have one for your shop, garage, or crew.
It;s designed at a 3 degree incline, which allows for it to come level as you put more and more weight on it while assembling the engine (rather than having it start at level and then droop). The Y leg design is not only strong and stable, but doesn;t get in the way of your foot room like ordinary engine stands. This unit is big enough to do the job, but small enough when folded to easily transport to the shop, track, or take to your buddy;s shop.

- Folds-up for space-saving storage and portability. Tilts-up for vertical engine rebuilding operations

- 2 for the folding legs

Throughout the housing industry, Jim Merrick was considered one of the three pioneers in the invention of automated housing machine tools. Starting with the invention of the Window Frame Clamp back in 1960, Merrick Machine Company, under the Triad brand name, has gone on to develop wood wall panel framing, steel stud framing, fastening, sub-component, and stair equipment and machines.
Over 50 years down the road, Merrick Machine Company is under the direction of Jim's grandson, Russ Merrick who oversees six different companies: Merrick Machine Co., Triad Fastener, FuTek Tooling (all in Alda, NE), Triad Products Co. (Hastings, NE), and Denver Plastics in Wahoo, NE.
