DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) is an aqueous 32.5% nitrogen solution of high-purity urea in deionized water and is key components of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, which help diesel vehicles meet stringent emission regulations (eff. date Jan 1, 2010). DEF is a liquid reducing agent that reacts with engine exhaust in the presence of a catalyst to convert smog-forming nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. Sold as factory made assemblies and also available bulk fittings available (3/4” only).
DEF Dispenser Hose is specifically designed to convey the high-purity, aqueous urea solution DEF. Hose tube compound is specially formulated with low-extraction EPDM and peroxide cured to provide superior extraction levels to significantly reduce contamination. Flexible, softwall construction with textile braid reinforcement provides superior handling in standard dispensing and reeling applications.
