BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires

The tire that developed the all-road class set the benchmark for success on and off the street. With 40 percent larger shoulder grooves, double-component tread, and ShoulderLock engineering offer improved stability and power in aired-down driving scenarios. The polyester carcass with three plies provides a steeper tread area for more specific steering responsiveness, improved cornering control, great bruise, and improved puncture resistance.

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires' Sidewall Blocks

The tire sidewall rubber, originating from the race of BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2, has a break and bruise resistant component. The rubber's enhanced thickness spread vertically to cover a wider region of the vital sidewall failure. Overwhelming rubber sidewall blocks offer increasing traction of dirt, snow, and rock, particularly in aired-down driving. Added bars in the shoulder help disperse compressed mud in muddy and soft soil environments, which allow for increased traction. Deliver improved stability of the tread block for even longer distance wear. Reject preservation of stone to provide additional security for tread cleanout towards stone drilling.

The 4th generation of all-terrain tires introduced about 15 years ago was the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2. The tire is built for on-and off-road use in all types of environments and targeted at SUV, Jeep, and car drivers and increases driving morale by increased control of the tire's entire weather and longevity. BFG uses a rubber sidewall material that is twice the thickness and much tougher than prior models. This tire, which consists of the Tri Gard polyester cord sidewall ply structure, is very sturdy and robust thanks to its twin steel belts with nylon reinforcing.

A Long-Lasting BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires

Like the first T/A KO tire, its style has long wear cycles and built-in longevity. Software modeling is used to shape the compounds and to deliver an all-terrain layout of interlocking tread blocks. The engineered tread architecture works to enhance mobility in damp or sleek situations. The new BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KO2 provides 10% more traction on mud, 19% more on snow than on the original All-Terrain KO Tires. The tire has side biter lugs hanging from the sidewall with rubber blocks, which allow better traction to move through snow and dullness while increasing rock climbing grip.

The mud bust bars and raised bars are supplied in the shoulder-tread region to dissipate compressed mud, enhancing traction in soft ground conditions and wet weather. The BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 has a snowflake/mountain-symbol, which implies, much like a special winter tire, it fits the driving criteria for extreme winter weather. Specific 3-D thread locking sips deliver more bite points that assist in the grip of ice and snow. This is yet another attribute for this tire, which many driver reports already show.

While some all-terrain tires could make the ride on the street unpleasant, KO2 was surprisingly fine. Vibration is not amusing and much quieter than we thought. This is because of the enhanced nature of the rubber. The tread is a tear prone, chip immune, which allows the tire to last longer. Taking tandem wear on highways, great news for people living in rural areas where rough riding is part of daily life is double the lives of prior eras. The interlocking tread pattern is meant to improve durability, and thanks to the sophisticated footprint, the wear and stress on the tire are uniformly spread.

About BFGoodrich Tires

The Goodrich Corporation, formerly the B.F. Goodrich Company was an American manufacturer of aerospace in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company was started by Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich in Akron, Ohio, in 1870. In 1880 the firm was called the BF Goodrich Company, in the 1980s, the BFGoodrich Company; and 2001, the Goodrich Company. In 1869, the Hudson River Rubber Company, a small company in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, was acquired by Benjamin Franklin Goodrich. Goodrich rejected a bid of $13,600 from Akron, Ohio, to move his company there the next year.

The company expanded to be one of the biggest tire and rubber producers globally, aided in part by the 1986 combination with Uniroyal (formerly the United States Rubber Company). This line of products was marketed to Michelin in 1988, and the company combined with Coltec Industries, Rohr (1997), and TRW Aeronautical Systems (formerly Lucas Aerospace) in 2002. The transition was achieved with the specialty chemical segment's sales and eventual changes to the new name.
