The header on a Scion FR-S, Toyota GT86, and Subaru BR-Z is one of the best upgrades you can do to the FA20 engine. The header fitment is the same for all 3 variants of the car. Its 2x2 design for the boxxer engine is what makes it unique. Each pair of collectors merge into the front over pipe which is before the catback exhaust. Headers can come in equal length or unequal length depending on the manufacture. Typically Scion FRS Headers are equal length. This means that each tube from the cylinder is the same length to the collector. As tested, a header will generate about 20 ft/lbs of torque which is huge considering the large torque dip the FA20 Scion FRS engine has. When doing a FRS header, it is good to get a ECU tune as well. If you remove the catalytic converter on the car, the ECU tune will raise the 02 limits so you do not get a Check Engine Light (CEL) from the header.
