OEM Coilover Springs
The term "Coilover" is short for "coil spring over a strut," and while it may look somewhat similar to the typical strut & spring, it is not. With coilovers, the entire shock/strut and spring combination of your vehicle is replaced by matching performance dampers and springs. In contrast to lowering springs, the coilovers offer a much more extensive adjustability range, including ride height, spring preload, shock damping, and rebound. Most high-end coilover kits are lighter than the factory components they replace to reduce unsprung weight and further increase handling.
Coilovers allow you to fine-tune each corner independently for the ultimate balance and control of the vehicle. Typically, the coilover sets feature even stiffer spring rates than the set of lowering springs on their own, again sacrificing ride quality for cornering performance. It is possible to swap springs with different spring rates for an even more significant adjustment and tuning range.
