Goodyear's Max Performance Summer tire, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, is designed for drivers of sports coupes, sports cars, muscle cars, and sports sedans. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 features an innovative structure with high-performance suspension components to provide precise steering and feel in dry and wet situations.
"Ultra high-performance summer tires are not suggested for winter usages, and tread or shoulder breaking on those tires arising from cold weather use will not be encased under our warranty," according to Goodyear's warranty, so the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is not aimed to be kept, serviced, or driven in near-freezing temperature changes, through snow, or on ice, like all summer tires.
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is equipped with a summer-only tread compound that improves traction by increasing road adhesion. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread shape with a solid center rib for quick steering and a solid on-center feel. The outside shoulder of the tire is designed to provide optimum dry traction in turns. In contrast, the inner part and four wide circumferential grooves offer wet-weather grip and aquaplaning resistance.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 characterizes tire performance and driver demands for strong saloons and sports vehicles. The tire underwent extensive testing to achieve the highest levels of safety and performance. The tire was developed over 36,000 engineering hours, involving over 5,000 tests, 1,200 road tests, and 3,800 testing throughout five test locations in five nations, spanning a total distance of 330,000 kilometers.
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3's internal structure incorporates a polyester cord body that supports twin steel belts enhanced with spirally wrapped polyamide to improve tread structure and good capability. Limited sizes of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 are offered with Goodyear's SoundComfort innovation, which entails a coating of sound-absorbing foam being adhered to the tire's inner lining to reduce cabin noise.

Goodyear conducted an independent TUV Sud Benchmark Test, which validated the tire's strong points. On wet roads, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 has a 2.6-meter shorter braking distance (9 percent better performance) than the average of the three biggest competitors, according to the results.
On dry roads, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 has a 1.3-meter shorter braking distance (4 percent better performance), and it has 4 percent superior wet handling than the average of the 3 top competitors. The results demonstrate that the tire has a 10.9 percent greater ride quality than the average of three key competitors. It is the second strongest rolling resistance of the tire manufacturers evaluated.
