What Is an Engine Torque Damper?

An engine torque damper is a self-contained elastomeric shock absorber for your engine mounted on the brackets between the chassis and the engine. To be more specific, they're fixed at the pulley end of the crankshaft. It's used to reduce vibration in your car as it sits idle, thus reducing extreme engine movement and improving your vehicle's overall operation efficiency. The engine torque damper is a mini shock absorber coil mounted on the brackets between the engine and the chassis. The science behind it is quite simple-they are rubber buffers enclosed in a tube that absorbs the engine’s vibration/movement.
