Firestone's Firehawk GT tire is created to achieve high-performance traction and grip, as well as a prolonged tread life and all-season driving dynamics. The GT is designed for owners of sedans, sport coupes, and crossovers, and it comes with the most up-to-date tire innovation. Two steel belts are strengthened with spirally wrapped nylon inside the tire for improved performance, toughness, and enhanced tread life. The polyester cord body provides more comfort and a smoother ride. Firestone offers sizes ranging from 15 to 18 inches, with a tread guarantee of up to 50,000 miles.
So, how does the Firehawk GT perform on the racetrack? Even when driven hard, this tire has superb dry traction, turning, and all-around performance. When driving back and forth between cones, the tire's steering responsiveness is snappy and accurate. Even while cornering hard, the tires provided excellent traction when driven on the same track in rainy circumstances. When driven through a big shallow puddle at high speeds, the tires did not aquaplane.
According to Firestone's UNI-T Technology, the beads, casing, and tread are the three key tire elements that affect overall performance by improving comfort, stability, and traction. On the outside, the Firehawk GT boasts an asymmetric tread design with wide outside shoulder blocks to improve steering responsiveness and cornering stability. Inside shoulder blocks have more lateral grooves and sipes to give more biting edges for grip in wet conditions. The continuous center ribs on the Firehawk GT radial improve responsiveness and wet and dry grip when driving or stopping. The entire tread design uses Firestone's Veri-pitch ordering of block shapes and sizes to minimize tread pattern noise significantly. Spirally wrapped nylon strengthen twin steel belts in the Firehawk GT's structure to improve driving control and deliver long, even treadwear while reducing weight and improving ride comfort. Steering responsiveness and cornering stability are enhanced with a polyester cord body and strong rubber sidewall reinforcing.
