The Getta Grip company was founded in Northern Utah, the epicenter of mountain sports and automobile enthusiasts with a high degree of vigor. The shifters are a combination of their two passions: mountain biking and racing cars, and are designed, tested, and manufactured in the United States. When designing their weighted shifters, which are made from billet aluminum and stainless steel, they make no concessions. They've created a completely customizable gear shift knob with performance and quality as the top priorities. It is not necessary to be a motorcycle or automobile enthusiast to enjoy their shifters. You only need to enjoy having your own unique style and the excitement of the pursuit of excellence. They began their business by creating custom shifters for their motorcycle and auto enthusiast friends. The notion then arose to mass-produce them in order to make them available to all automobile fanatics. Getta Grip Lock-On Grips provide an impressive level of grip and comfort at a reasonable price. Their dual lock-ring design coupled with grippy silicone creates the ideal MTB grip that will not rotate on the handlebar and will not slip in the hands. These grips feature Getta Grip's proprietary rubber compound with a hexagonal texture on the bottom or fingertip portion of the grip and a low-profile upper section. They utilize a single locking ring that secures the included tapered inner core to prevent the grip from twisting under load. The ends of the grips are also closed, which is ideal for those who are prone to losing bar ends. The profile of these grips is contoured and widens toward the grip's end. In theory, this is to prevent your hands from "blowing off" the ends of the handlebars, but in practice, the profile this contour makes is incredibly comfortable and actually hugs the palms quite well.

While there isn't much in the way of texture, the hexagonal undersides extend slightly, giving your fingertips something to grip. However, they are relatively inconspicuous, so they are not obtrusive; rather, they increase your grip when you are in the attack position and applying power. With or without gloves, the tackiness of the rubber compound enhances the grip. In addition, they have performed admirably throughout the duration of the test, showing minimal signs of wear.
