GTC02

Enkei GTC02 | Developed by Racing

Racing is a wonderful test bed for most of today’s car's safety features and go-fast capabilities. Even fuel-efficiency is developed in racing.

In racing, the only equalizer is the track on which to race upon. Every part of the car is tested. And perhaps the most tested part of all, taking a lot of abuse are the car’s wheels. Racing is where all of the best R&D happens.

Which is where the Enkei GTC02 comes in.  What Enkei learned on the world’s premier circuits are eventually implemented into mainstream products and made available to the weekend racer. That’s how the new Enkei GTC02 was born.

Based on the RA series wheels used in the Super GT racing series, the GTC02 pulls from the same bag of tricks as the RA series to give weekend racers the competitive edge they need to win.

The GTC02 sports a unique 6 split-spoke design that disperses stresses efficiently allows us to keep the spokes as thin as possible and make cuts in them on the fronts and sides to shave weight even further.

All Enkei GTC02 wheels are made in Japan and nowhere else. That means that it also employs Enkei’s famed MAT-DURA technology.

The Most Advanced Technology combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim forming technology called spinning process. Using this technique of casting and rim forming is critical to improving the material property and strength of the wheels. Rim-Rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheels’ hardness.

This hybrid process of casting and forging gives the GTC02 high material strength while keeping manufacturing costs less than forged wheels.

The GTC02 is engineered to pass rigorous testing. Enkei established their own test standard called “Spec-E,” which is tougher than JWL requirements. Enkei’s Spec-E test setting requires a higher drop point in the impact test and 20% more cycles for the rotary bending fatigue and dynamic radial fatigue tests than JWL standards.
