The Toyo Proxes TQ is a streetable drag racing radial tire. It has super grip capabilities for a quick start off the line. The Proxes TQ performs excellent in dry weather conditions and can be driven from street to track. The tire is not designed to be driven in standing water, ice or snow. The tire's internal construction features drag race construction with a Special Drag-Race Radial Casing that helps enhance performance during the launch by maintaining a large, consistent contact patch for traction throughout a drag run. Twin high-tensile steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped jointless cap and edge plies control the footprint size and shape. Jointless beads anchor the tires to the wheels while a high-modulus bead compound and slightly angled body plies work together to stabilize the sidewall.

As a general guideline, if you have experience racing on drag radial tires, Toyo recommends that you not change your burnout procedure. However, for the very first run, we recommend a burnout that is slightly longer than normal. Generally, on a cold track in colder ambient temperatures, we recommend a longer burnout, and conversely, a shorter burnout under warmer conditions. Beware that long burnouts may overheat the compound and shorten the usage life of the tire.

• Having DOT approval extends beyond the requirements of making it available in the US. While this is a given for all tires sold in the US, DOT approval also means that these tires meet the marking and performance requirements required on the racetrack. • The Proxes TQ is developed with a compound that is molded into an asymmetric tread design which includes two distinct tread areas. This molded drag radial tread compound increases grip when launched and optimizes driving performance for street and track use. 
• The Proxes TQ tires are designed for versatility between track and street, without missing out on the drag racing traction. Drivers get the best of both worlds with these tires. As this is a dual-purpose competition tire, the tires are designed with reduced tread depth and special tread rubber compound, ensuring optimal performance in dry weather.

The Proxes TQ molds a drag radial tread compound that maximizes grip at launch. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design with two distinct tread areas optimized for track and street use. A semi-slick inboard area improves traction on independent rear suspension vehicles while still maintaining consistent grip on straight axle rear suspension vehicles. A variable pitch outboard area reduces pattern noise while driving on the street.
