As a result, valve timing is badly affected since the valves open and close too late. This impact can be partially mitigated by a chain tensioner used in many building projects, although its capabilities and lifespan are both restricted. However, the valvetrain is too precise for this method and requires a new element with the same number of rollers. Therefore eliminating some links from a chain can assist in other systems. On the other hand, gears wear down just like chains, but they tend to last longer.
