The Pirelli SCORPION ALL SEASON PLUS was designed with the unique performance needs of CUV and SUV drivers in mind. The tire uses an innovative process and tread compound to provide an optimized balance of wet and dry grip, steering response, even treadwear, and traction in light snow.

Back in 1974, Pirelli invented the “radial tire” for the Lancia rally racing team. They needed a strong tire that will be able to withstand the power of their newly developed vehicles. During those times, tires are either made with a cross-ply technique which provides better grip due to its wide tires with low sidewall height, or radial tires which are stronger but narrower and have a lower grip. Pirelli provided a solution wherein they combined the properties of both, which in turn provided a tire with the performance of a slick tire but with the structural integrity of a radial tire.

Features:

• Large outer shoulder blocks combine with the tires’ firmer center rib to deliver enhanced steering response and feel, while also providing added handling and cornering stability. It’s a combination that works very well for this tire as it offers strong performance in this area.
• Four wide circumferential grooves work to channel water from the tread and reduce the risk of hydroplaning, while the added silica content further increases traction on wet road surfaces.
• Pirelli has also included unique zig-zag sipes around the tire that give it biting edges driving in light winter weather conditions. 
• Inside the tire are dual high-tensile steel belts that are reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon. This results in providing added strength and tighter handling. Pirelli offers a range of 19 to 22-inch sizes that also feature a Y-speed rating. A 50K mile tread warranty is included on all sizes.
