Transforce AT

Firestone Transforce AT Tires

It's unusual to encounter a high-traction commercial tire that lasts a long time. All tires are compromises that shine brightly in some regions than others. It's one of life's unfortunate realities that you can't have it all, but Firestone has successfully integrated some features in the Transforce AT that would typically be exclusive. Choosing a decent tire for greater loads is difficult enough, but when a dual-rear-wheel vehicle is supposed to operate in the dirt, things get considerably more difficult. Not that the Transforce is solely for dualies, but in this situation, we needed a tire that could bear the weight, steer well despite a thin front tire, withstand high torque loads, have good grip in the dirt, perform well in soft material, and survive a long time. That's a lot of pressure to put on a tire.

Firestone Transforce AT Tires Offer Weight and Driving Performance

With duals, rim width requires a small tire, making it more difficult for the fronts to handle both weight and steering direction. Plus, we don't want them to sink into something gentler than cemented concrete. So, except in show-only applications, when bogus wheel spacers could be utilized to fit the loveliest tread pattern and sidewalls with the highest tire armor absorption characteristics, the rear wheel spacing establishes a definitive restriction on tire width.

The Firestone Transforce AT is designed to perform well in all types of weather, including dry, wet, and winter situations, as well as off-road. With its C or E load rating, the AT is perfect for pulling or transporting heavy loads while providing a softer and more pleasant ride for users of commercial vehicles, heavy-duty vans, pickups, and SUVs. Longer tread life and improved riding comfort are provided by a harder all-season tread composition that contains L.L. Carbon and continuous shoulder ribs. In addition, a symmetric tread pattern with individual tread blocks throughout the speed zone delivers improved dry traction and steering response throughout the speed zone.

Multiple sipes and three circumferential grooves improve wet pavement grip and steering while lowering the risk of aquaplaning. The sipes give biting edges for enhanced traction on snow or ice, while the larger grooves channel excess water from the tread. To minimize outside road noise and provide a smoother experience, Firestone employs 5-degree noise reduction innovation. Two steel belts with nylon reinforcement are found inside the tire for additional performance and toughness at greater speeds. A polyester cord body adds to the ride's comfort. The AT comes in a variety of diameters ranging from 15 to 18 inches.

Firestone Transforce AT Tire Has Got You Covered

The Transforce AT2 is Firestone's second-generation light truck tire, designed for users of full-sized trucks, vans, SUVs, and commercial vehicles who need massive treads that mix stability on the highway with grip on the unpaved roads that are common at job sites. In dry, rainy, and wintry situations, especially snow, the Transforce AT2 is created to achieve on- and off-road traction. A robust, chip- and tear-resistant all-terrain composition is molded into a symmetric tread structure on the Transforce AT2. The open shoulder construction and separate tread block aid traction in slick conditions, while the deep, circumferential grooves efficiently drain water from the footprint to reduce aquaplaning. The broad starting tread depth and siping within the blocks, which offer additional biting edges in the snow, help with winter traction. Two high-tensile steel belts hold the tread, while a spirally-wrapped nylon reinforcement ply keeps the tire in shape and improves performance at highway speeds. Polyester cord is used to make the two-ply body casing, which helps to improve driving dynamics.

About Firestone Tires

Firestone topped the list with its racetrack history for over 100 years, beginning with a 1911 Indianapolis 500 victory by a car running Firestone tires. Firestone-equipped cars have shown excellent results in and out of the track ever since. In Ohio, the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company founded Harvey Firestone in 1900, producing tires for wagons, buggies, and other farm machinery. With the manufacturing footprint and the item's development process, Firestone has actively managed to reduce emissions.

When Harvey Firestone collaborated with Henry Ford to put the first Model T pneumatic rubber car tires on the Model T and eventually became the Ford Motor Company's OE distributor, Harvey Firestone's industry started and started to expand into today's Firestone Tires clients. Firestone provided this resourceful history with the strength and dedication to manufacturing the tires that enable today's automobiles to travel further and grip the road easier than any other tire.
