The VR Forged D09 Wheels come in a variety of diameters and widths, including 18x8.5, 18x9.5, 19x9.5, 19x10, 20x9.5, 20x10, 20x11, 20x12, and 20x12.5 inches, and can be ordered with an offset of either 55, 45, 44, 40, 38, 37, 30, 25, 24, 21, 20 or 11. VR Forged D09 wheels are designed in CAD by analyzing each cut and corner in order to achieve the ultimate goal. All wheels meet the certification requirements for VIA and JWL, which are more important than cost savings. Wheels are designed and rated for each vehicle to ensure the highest level of safety. All their wheels begin with a raw aluminum rod that is cut to the required dimensions. Each aluminum rod undergoes additional testing to ensure that it meets the established criteria. The aluminum rods are then placed in a furnace to achieve the optimal forging temperature. The rods are then passed through high-tonnage hydraulic machines to complete the initial forging procedure. Using a 10,000-ton press, everything is inspected and confirmed to ensure that the forgings are of the highest quality. The forging is machined into a wheel shape that is more readily recognizable. This is done by a machine with three rotary wheels and six shafts. Each forging is now subjected to a series of heat treatments that allow the wrought aluminum to achieve a more stable internal structure while simultaneously increasing its mechanical strength and hardness.
The CNC machine shop is completing the final shaping of the aluminum wheels in order to transform them into the intended artistic forms. Beginning with vertical double turret CNC lathes and a horizontal CNC lathe, the forged blank is machined into a wheel. After the wheel has been machined, it is transported to a workshop that has special inspection checkpoints for every wheel. Checking run-out is only one of the analyses performed on each wheel.
