Crafted from some of the toughest materials out there, every ADS coil over shock is equipped with a 7075 aluminum shock piston, known for being more than twice as strong as the standard 6061. This means they can resist cracking and warping, even under the intense heat that comes from off-road adventures. For those opting for ADS 3 Inch and larger diameter coil overs, we’ve upgraded to induction hardened shafting with a hard chrome finish to meet the demands of larger shocks.

So how does a shock absorber work? It transforms kinetic energy into heat, which the shock fluid absorbs and eventually dissipates. On paved roads, the shock shaft barely moves, resulting in minimal heat generation. However, when you're off-roading, the shaft moves much more, creating significant kinetic energy and heat.
