The AEM 21-836WR Performance Cold Air Intake System is engineered to enhance airflow and improve engine efficiency for the Subaru STI models from 2018 to 2021 equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. This intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and housing, resulting in noticeable gains in horsepower and torque.
Featuring an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter, this intake system ensures excellent airflow and filtration capabilities. The filter is strategically positioned in the original air box space and shielded by a heat shield designed to minimize intake air temperature, further optimizing performance. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum with a durable wrinkle red powder-coated finish, providing both aesthetics and durability.
This system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the factory emissions control devices, including the mass air flow sensor, ensuring compliance and functionality. The tapered cylinder design of the AEM Dryflow air filter utilizes oil-free synthetic media, allowing for up to 100,000 miles of use before cleaning is necessary, depending on driving conditions.
Installation is straightforward, requiring only commonly available tools, and is backed by AEM's Limited Lifetime Warranty. It is important to note that this intake system is not legal for sale or use in California and other states that adopt California emissions standards.
