If you want to increase the performance of the GM LT2 engine in your C8 Corvette, an aftermarket air intake is a must-have modification. By increasing the amount of air entering your engine, more fuel can be added and larger combustion will be created. It's equally important to keep the intake air temperature low with an air-box and ducts which pull in cold air from outside the engine bay.
With the AFE Track Series carbon fiber cold air intake system, you have OEM-like fitment, finish, and quality, but with increased power. AFE's special Pro 5R filters flow significantly more air than the OEM air filters since they use better materials and larger filters with more surface area.
The carbon fiber intake tube helps block our heat from the engine and keep the intake air temperatures low, especially compared to a plastic or steel tube. More importantly, AFE uses a heat-resistant housing which helps ensure the intake system only pulls in cold air from the intake ducts, rather than hot air from inside the engine bay.
Large Five Layer Performance Air Filters:
Dual 4" Flange 360-degree radial flow air filters feature our pre-oiled Pro 5R media with five layers of progressively finer cotton gauze media for maximum performance. They provide your engine with the largest amount of high-flowing air, and in most cases deliver the highest power gains of our filter media options. This media is perfect for street and/or track use. Their inverted tops make for more filter surface area, resulting in longer service intervals.
Not only do the Pro 5R filters provide superior airflow compared to the stock air filters, but they also provide superb air filtration. This will help keep your engine safe from dust, dirt, and debris which can put excessive wear on the cylinder walls of your C8 Corvette's engine.
Carbon Fiber Intake Tube:
Lightweight twill weave carbon fiber tube directs the filtered air from the dual air filters to the intake manifold, where it is then directed to the engine. AFE's intake tube is computer-designed and dyno-tested to increase airflow while reducing weight and enhancing the visual appearance of the engine bay. The tube is manufactured out of 100% carbon fiber material, unlike other manufacturers who use fiberglass.
The carbon fiber construction is much stronger than the OEM plastic components and more resistant to wear, plus it provides excellent thermal performance compared to metal intake tubing.
Heat-Resistant Housing:
The dual air filters are surrounded by an open-element XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) polymer housing that minimizes warm engine air for maximum performance. It is precisely designed and manufactured to fit perfectly into the factory mounting location. The housing connects to the factory air inlets on each side of the vehicle to capture the coolest air available. Silicone couplings are used for engine movement and easy installation.
Seals to the Trunk Cover:
The seal trim installed on the housing edge seals to the plastic trunk cover to protect the air filters from unwanted warm engine air. This set up allows for more aggressive air intake noise while not sacrificing any performance.
Premium Hardware:
Premium stainless steel clamps and flexible silicone couplings are used for strength and durability while also providing the most secure installation available.

This intake system is not CARB exempt at this time and is not legal for sale in California or use on vehicles registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
